Landscape of Climate Finance for Agrifood Systems

Global food availability and quality has been affected in recent years by crises unprecedented in modern history. The COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, compounded by the overall climate crisis, have exposed the vulnerability of global food supply chains to health, geopolitical, and environmental shocks and stresses.

Strategic thinking and priorities are starting to shift towards a more systemic approach to food. This includes low-carbon and resilient agrifood systems, which are vital to ensure the food security of a growing human population and global economic development.

This report presents the first comprehensive analysis of climate finance flowing to these systems globally, with the aim of better informing decision-makers in this space.  Establishing this baseline for financial flows can help to track action against the efforts required to mitigate and adapt to climate change.
