The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development is an intergovernmental economic organisation with 35 member countries, founded in 1961 to stimulate economic progress and world trade. The mission of OECD is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social wellbeing of people around the world. The OECD provides a forum in which governments can work together to share experience and seek solutions to common problems. This means working with governments to understand what drives economic, social and environmental change. The OECD has a green growth and sustainable development forum, which aims at strengthening the coherence of approaches to green growth and sustainable development across the work of the OECD.
